Get ready to be creative, have some fun and be a bit messy!
Just step into our amazing PROFESSIONAL ART STUDIO and dream of your next creation. This summer, we dream of the islands and woodland fantasies.
Campers make three or more art pieces to take home during the camp week. Combine nature, creativity and art. Engage all your senses and inspire your imagination. Watercolors, acrylics, natural dyes, drawing and sketching fill each day with creativity and wonder. Show ‘n Tell art time for parents on last camp day (30 min).
We’ve thought a lot here about what projects can be inspiring, and also build skills and techniques. Your camper will take the next step in their art explorations here at our summer art camps.
We are all about inspiring creativity in kids of different ages! These activities will keep campers entertained, engaged and energized.
For our projects we will use professional art materials and create pieces that reflect our themes of TROPICAL ISLAND GETAWAY and WOODLAND FANTASY. Teachers choose specific project ideas depending on the ages of the campers who register, keeping with the theme and our goal to create lasting and memorable pieces that students and families want to display.
Our camps are taught by “real” art teachers – most of whom are part of our yearly Faculty. They are experienced teachers and juried artists with university training and/or a degree in the arts. We take our inspiration from famous artists and discuss the artists careers, then mimic the mediums they used.
This is a wonderful time to dive into several forms of visual art including drawing, sketching, painting, mixed-media and sculpture. The sky’s the limit!
These camps are a great opportunity for younger artists to develop creativity and fundamental art skills. You will live and learn as you study different techniques and media.
Students investigate a wide variety of materials and approaches, both traditional and non-traditional, which may include drawing, painting, collage, fibers, sculpture, and collaborative installation.
Develop your drawing skills and learn how to translate those skills into a variety of processes with a variety of two-dimensional media and techniques, such as graphite, charcoal, ink, watercolor and acrylic paints. You will have the opportunity to work from observation, and explore your own personal expression. We also will learn from each other’s process and experimentation.
AND…If students would like to continue studying the same medium through multiple sessions, they can participate in a progressive curriculum during the school year through our weekly art classes, with three gallery shows yearly.
