End the week with a fabulous short stage show for friends and family!
Each day of camp gets more frenzied since we are all aiming towards the Friday show for parents!
This amazing BROADWAY MUSICALS CAMP meets on the FMSPA campus in our own Frisco Performing Arts Center. Full stage and lighting, with fun costumes and props for use during the entire camp (included). A real stage for daily camp and rehearsals, with stage mics and sound.
Campers arrive on the first day to meet the class, then quickly get into being comfortable on stage and comfortable with each other. Vocal warm-ups are key, to get ready for singing various repertoire that goes with our show theme.
Next, learn lyrics and songs for the Friday show, rehearsing as a group with some limited individual attention and pointers from the teacher.
Our teachers are professional singing and performing musicians, with university training and/or real world experience – most of them are part of our yearly faculty. We teach safe singing here, and make sure students are using their voices in an appropriate way.
Short scripts are prepared and lines are divided up between all campers. Our lines will introduce each song for the Friday show. First line reading is at the table, and the teacher will direct campers to include character development, vocal inflection, feelings, emotion, timing, facial expressions and more!
Take the stage to work on blocking and movement! Since campers are on campus for 5 straight days in a row, they retain so much info from day to day, and you will be very surprised how much detail is in the Friday performance – they always nail the show!
Dress rehearsal is day 4, and the excitement is infectious.
Friday is final rehearsals first, then SHOW TIME for parents and families is the last 30 minutes of camp. Campers appreciate that standing ovation during the curtain call!
Join us for the excitement of live performance at this fun and worthwhile BROADWAY MUSICALS SUMMER CAMP.
AND…If students would like to continue studying the same medium through multiple sessions, they can participate in a progressive curriculum during the school year through our weekly MUSICAL THEATRE classes, with three Variety shows yearly.
