Ms. Autumn

My name is Autumn Simpson and I am so excited to be teaching at Musical Arts Schoolhouse as the Lead Theatre teacher. I grew up in acting and theatre classes ever since I was a little girl. So it was only natural for me to want to attend college and major in the arts.

I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Theatre Education from the University of Houston. The Houston theatre community is huge and while there I also did my student teaching for middle school and high school. Also I co-founded an after school theatre club for a local elementary school. We also taught workshops with students ages 6-11.

I have helped supervise and teach arts-integration camps for elementary students including management techniques and tools.

In 2016 I joined the Omaha Theatre Company as the teaching artist fellow. Here I planned and taught creative drama and acting classes for ages 4-18 and also worked for after school programs.

As you can imagine I have been in many many stage productions, some of which are: Huck Finn, The Jungle Book, Nebraskaland, The Prime of Miss Jean Broadie, The Philadelphia Story, Serious Money and more. I also have experience of Director, Assistant Director and Co-director for many productions as well.

Creative acting and theatre activities for early childhood is my dream job and I look forward to working with your children at MAS and FSMPA.
